Mr. Crane has over thirty-five years’ experience as a lawyer and as an executive in capital markets, governance, life sciences, regulatory compliance, investor relations, and strategic planning.
Previously, he was Vice President and General Counsel of FINCA International, where he established a novel holding company for accessing social investment capital. Before joining FINCA, he practiced in life sciences with the international law firm of Kirton & McConkie, served as General Counsel for a NASDAQ biotechnology company, and as Senior SEC/Financial counsel for a leading NYSE listed surgical device manufacturer. He has extensive international experience, having acted as the executive director of a U.S. AID sponsored capital market development project in Sofia, Bulgaria, and through his position at FINCA where he was directly involved in operations in Africa, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. He began his career with BellSouth Corporation, rising to Assistant Secretary and Corporate Counsel, responsible for governance practices and shareholder relations, before transitioning into life sciences.
Mr. Crane holds an adjunct faculty appointment at the University of Michigan School of Law, serves as Chairman of the Board of The U.S.-Africa Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of an international working group of counsel promoting impact investment.
He received Bachelor’s and Law Degrees from the University of Georgia, and studied graduate tax law at Emory University.
